Secretarial Functions New Research Scheme To invite for the R&D activities in their subject area  To examine new R&D proposals from PIs, to obtain views of experts and recommend for  funding by MoWR. To check duplicity of the new research proposals.  To identify end users of the new research proposals and obtain their views/compliance by PI.  To prepare panel of experts on various subjects  Ongoing Research Scheme To release funds  To examine annual progress reports, expenditure statements, Utilization Certificates etc.  To visit the PIs on site  To process service requests viz. time extension, revision of estimate etc.  To examine Draft /Final Report by experts and its acceptance by INC.  Release of Overhead and Final payment.  Information Dissemination To organize the R&D sessions  To prepare state of art manuals, Monographs in the subject area  To disseminate research findings/ information in the subject area by various means  To identify and review the priority/thrust areas of research from time to time. 

  6. 2: Innovative Functions  To encourage development of Technology and introduction of New technology in India  To represent India in the International Organizations related to water and participate in International programmes of ICID, UNESCO-IHP, Global water Partnership, IWMI, IWA, World Water Council, UN, FAO etc. , as Indian Representative  To collaborate, collate and disseminate the water related research with other organizations, Ministries in India to create ONE VOICE  To issue “state of the Art” Reports
