Headstand magic

People who love headstand really love it, and those who don't, are really fearful of it.

The difference between loving and fearing the pose often depends on whether you understand how to come into the pose with control so that the potential for too much momentum causing a crash into the back space is minimized.

A stable, controlled headstand is easy, comfortable and joyful, while a wobbly, out-of-control one is difficult, painful and miserable…

When you're able to create proper skeletal support, the posture will require minimal muscular effort and your breath will flow easily, which will allow you to rest in the pose for a long time without fatigue. Staying in the posture gives it time to works its physiological magic. (Adapted from a quote by Roger Cole on shoulderstand in Yoga Journal)
