Creating Fresh Bruising

  • Stipple red cream makeup around

area where bruise will be

  • Smudge it and rub it in leaving

middle open

  • Use small amount of purple or dark red cream makeup and

stipple area to make your outer edges

  • Blend out carefully using your makeup sponge

  • Stipple green cream makeup

around outer areas and use purple or dark red and blue cream makeup

  • Finish setting this makeup with

translucent face powder

Creating Cuts

  • Using scar wax place a

small amount and blend into skin

  • Note: Do not place on

flexible area

  • Mold scar wax into

shape in the size that is desired using a spatula

  • r craft stick and or

  • Using utensil create a cut pulling

carefully through wax

  • The ends should be narrower and

tapper leaving center wider

  • Lightly use a stipple sponge over your

wax to give texture

red cream makeup into the injury area and tapper color to fine line on the ends

  • Take red cream makeup and go
  • ver dark red areas in the center

  • Finalize the wound with

simulated blood or simulated gel blood

  • Use cream makeup to create any size scrape
  • Place red makeup onto a stipple sponge and pull

sponge across the skin in the direction desired to make the scrape

  • Stipple red cream makeup onto stipple sponge

and go over the area in the same direction

  • With a fine brush add simulated

liquid blood or simulated thick blood over top of the scrapes in the same direction of injury

  • For an added effect, coffee

grounds can be added for a more sever look

  • For another added effect, you can

add glycerin or lubricant jelly to provide shine

Creating 2nd Degree Burns

  • Paint a thin layer of red

cream makeup and blend out with sponge

  • Apply 2 layers of liquid latex and allow to dry

in between application

  • Note: Some people may be allergic to latex
  • Skip this step if you have a latex allergy
  • Once latex has dried add

2 more layers in a circular pattern leaving center empty

  • Make an oval
  • pening using your

fingers and roll out the latex onto itself

  • Stipple red cream

makeup inside the

  • pening
  • Then stipple purple or dark red cream

makeup on the rim of the opening

  • Carefully blend out colors with sponge

Creating 3rd Degree Burns

  • To create a more enhanced 3rd degree burn

use powdered gelatin with hot water and mix to dissolve and let cool down

  • Apply a thing layer of gelatin using a craft stick
  • ver the burn area and built up
  • Using end of a brush pull the gelatin around as it

cools in order to create texture

  • Add a layer of Vaseline over the top of the gelatin

Creating 3rd Degree Burns Continued

  • Take 1 layer of tissue

and tear edges

  • Place over top of

burn and press down

  • Using makeup sponge

carefully stipple 1st coat of liquid latex matting down all edges and let dry

  • Repeat a 2nd layer of

latex and let dry

  • Using end of brush

begin pulling up tissue exposing gelatin underneath

  • Using black cream makeup
  • r charcoal powder stipple

around burn area leaving center peeled area clean of black makeup

  • Stipple a small amount of

red and purple cream makeup over top of blackened area

  • Using a brush apply a small

amount of red cream makeup inside the peeled area

  • Add vaseline or lubricant jelly
  • ver the red areas

Imitating Reality - Makeup for Moulage

Adding Effects: Easy Simulated Blood Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 1 tiny drop blue food coloring
  • 1 tiny drop green food coloring (optional)
  • 1 scant teaspoon flour, sifted
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 1 small shallow glass or plastic bowl
  • 1 toothpick
  • Cooking spray
  • Water (optional)
  • Chocolate sauce (optional)
  • Liquid laundry soap (optional)

Directions:

  • Add flour and red food coloring to the mixing bowl.
  • Spritz your tablespoon with cooking spray and use

it to add corn syrup to the mix.

  • Use the toothpick to add the tiniest drop of blue

food coloring. You can always add more. Add the same amount of green food coloring if you need it to be more purple. Stir with a small whisk or spoon until completely blended.

  • Adjust the recipe using additional food coloring,

chocolate sauce, water or laundry detergent if desired.

Learning More: Suggested Tips and Tricks

  • Start with something relatively simple.
  • When removing SFX makeup, you can make use of warm towels or soap

and water go a long way.

  • Invest in the right products and tools.
  • You don’t have to spent a lot of money to get great FX.
  • Practice in advance.
  • It is always advised to do a patch test before using heavy-duty products like

latex and silicone on the skin or on manikins.

  • Make sure that you do not use silicone or latex in the hair, and make use of

vaseline to protect the surrounding hair.

  • Remember to have fun!
