  4. ITINERARY WEDS 4 TH MARCH • 02:30 leave Beverley High School (on Acklams coach) 05:30 approx. Arrive Manchester Airport. • 05:45hrs. Check in opens at Manchester • Airport 07:45 EZY1805 departs for Reykjavik - • Keflavik International Airport • 10.40hrs EZY1805 arrives at Reykjavik - Keflavik International Airport • 11.40hrs Load luggage. Coach departs for the Bridge between the Continents •

  5. DAY 1 • Bridge Between the Continents (with lunch stop) • Gunnuhver Hot Springs • Eldborg Crater • Krysuvik Mud Puddles • Kleifarvatn (the draining lake) • Arriving at hotel about 5pm, evening meal at 6:30pm

  7. IN THE HOTEL Good behaviour at all times. • There will be other guests on holiday in the hotel • All breakages and damage need to be reported at once to a member of staff. Always leave your hotel key at • reception.

A WORD OF WARNING… • There are separate male and female changing and showering areas • This is part of Icelandic culture and is partly because the springs are natural and therefore not kept clean with chemicals like our pools are. You will be able to buddy up with a • friend and help each other out with towels for screens if it makes you feel more comfortable.

  14. DAY 4 - SATURDAY 7 TH MARCH • A walking tour and shopping time in Reykjavik • The Perlan Building and Ice Cave

  15. Reykjavik Keflavik to Manchester • Flight number EZY1808 Departure 18:00 Sat 7th Mar • • Arrival 20:40 Midnight – 12:30am - Estimated • time of arrival back to Beverley High School We will get the girls to text or ring • to confirm times once we have got luggage and are on the bus. . •

  16. • We are flying with Easyjet LUGGAGE • Luggage Allowance: 20kg per person checked luggage + one piece of hand luggage (rucksack please) • Passports and money to be kept in hand luggage (we’ll collect these on the coach) • Baggage labels for outward journey only completed and attached. • No liquids, or sharp items in hand luggage.

PASSPORTS & EHIC • Passports must be in hand luggage, will be collected by staff. • They will be kept in the hotel safe and distributed on the return journey back to Britain. • EHIC - Iceland has a reciprocal arrangement with the UK so these will be needed in case of any medical treatment (unless there’s a no -deal Brexit in which case they may not be valid) • Medical consent form – please complete and return

  18. FOOD FOR THE JOURNEY • Snacks – cereal bars etc (breakfast) • A water bottle (to use whilst in Iceland) • You might want to bring a packed lunch for later, and/or money to buy some at the airport, as our first meal provided is dinner in the evening.

  19. THE COACH TO THE AIRPORT- ACKLAMS • The coach will be fitted with seatbelts, they must be worn at all times.

  20. SPENDING MONEY • Recommend approx. 10,000 ISK (about £70) – for drinks, souvenirs, snacks and lunch on the first and last days. • All trip money is the responsibility of the student. • Purses & wallets should contain student name and hotel name in case lost.

  23. WHAT TO BRING? Thermals if you have them but layers are • • A warm coat fine • Waterproof (if above one is not) • Nightclothes. • Trip Hoody • Underwear, socks (lots of socks!). Swimwear and towel • • Woolly hat, scarf, gloves Toiletries • • Sturdy, warm boots suitable for snow • Sunglasses (walking boots ideal) • Camera / phone Casual evening clothes but not lots • Any Medication (ensure you have told Ms • Hancock about this in writing) Trainers or other comfortable shoes • • Small rucksack essential Layers of clothing, t-shirts, jumpers, • • Pens/pencils leggings etc. Enough for ‘just in • Clipboard / hard back notebook case’ you get wet Carrier bags for dirty washing •

  24. EXTRAS • A travel plug - Europlug/Schuko-Plug (CEE types) • Get together with friends / people you might share with to avoid bringing unnecessary items e.g. hairdryers the hotel rooms all have them. • Do not bring anything valuable, jewellery, ipads etc. If you do so it is at your own risk.

  26. Beverley High School has an • BEHAVIOUR excellent reputation abroad. • Behaviour must be excellent all week and at all times. No one is allowed to drink under • the age of 18 by law. • No one is allowed to smoke. School policy is that Parents and • Pupils will be asked to read carefully and sign a contract which they must adhere to.

  27. PHONES Being on a school trip means the same rules as school apply – but we are • happy for you to use phones within sensible boundaries Taking pictures is fine (please be aware of your surroundings!) but • constant Snapchat etc is not – the time for social media (if you can’t be without it!) and home contact is on an evening please. Be aware that not all members of the group use social media, or wish to • have their images posted online, additionally, many parents do not wish their child’s image / details posting for safety reasons so please post sensitively and only include yourself. • Any problems, as in school – you MUST see staff first before contacting home, or posting anything online. • You are required to switch off and hand in phones before bed (school policy) – they will be returned at breakfast

SOME FINAL REMINDERS Students will have ID cards – keep them on you! • Rooming – complete a sheet • • Please check we know any dietary requirements (including vegetarians) • Insurance details - please collect a copy if you wish. We use the standard Rayburn Schools insurance, through Endsleigh. • Questions?
