Bridge history

 Opened in 1978

− Provided separate eastbound bridge

− Expansion Joint replacement − Repairs to deck, structural steel, substructure − Full paint overcoated original paint

− Driving surface repair, crack repairs

 Current Operations

− 5 lanes on a 68-ft roadway − 77,000 vehicles per day on eastbound bridge

EB70 on ramps from 5th Street

 Closure of S. 5th Street beneath Blanchette for joint

replacement
