- Case:
- Need for a process by which the MiniMed IT and user community will develop, submit,
prioritize, approve and report on all IT related projects.
- To ensure that limited IT resources are properly allocated for justifiable business
requirements that add value to the entire organization
- Solution:
- Web-based interface between IT and clients (Appendix A)
- Self-service portal where:
- Users can request new projects
- Department approvers can review/approve/decline projects, prioritize them and
submit to IT
- IT can review/approve/decline projects, prioritize them and submit to upper
management
- Users can monitor progress of their projects
- Website customized for each user (each user can see projects related to his
department)
- Impact:
- Process will establish a method for gathering service request and assigning them to
team members based on business priorities
- Provides a standardized, one-stop methodology for all IT work-request, formal review
and approval process.
