The problem w ith tradition

• A European Union Monograph can only be

prepared w hen the follow ing criteria is fulfilled:

• The herbal preparation has been in use for at least 3 0

years

• And the herbal preparation has been in use in the EU

for a least 1 5 years

• The clinical efficacy is based on longstanding use and

plausibility

• Excludes to a large extent new products, Chinese

traditional m edicines and Ayurvedic traditional m edicines
