Resilience: A Skill

Practical skills that can be applied in everyday life to strengthen an

individual's ability to overcome adversity and challenges, use stress effectively, and thrive in their (personal and professional) life

For most, resilience is not something that we’re born with—it develops

  • ver time as we acquire knowledge, perspective, and self-management

Resilience: The Foundation

PV2 (purpose, vision, values) Purpose: A purpose is a statement of

why we exist/reason for being. It should energize you to focus on something greater than yourself.

Vision: A vision is a statement of what

you would like to become. It should be enduring and an ultimate stretch goal— most likely something that will never be attained.

Q-Life for employees

The Q-Life experience: a novel pilot to develop resilience skills in employees

Original Investigation

Conclusions: The results indicated that the model demonstrated acceptable fit to the data and can be used as an assessment tool for the Q-Life experience. The Q-Life experience showed significant improvement in resilience. This is an important finding as resilience can be associated with lower levels of perceived stress, higher job satisfaction and fewer stress related symptoms. Higher resilience is related to higher levels of worker productivity, fewer absences from work and an employee is less likely to quit.
