Sites & Spaces - Summary of Key Findings

THE TOWN HALL WAS THE MOST PREFERRED SITE FOR THE HUB

ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE DESIGN IS IMPORTANT TO HEPBURN

THE LIBRARY IS AN IMPORTANT COMMUNITY FACILITY WHICH REQUIRES PROMINENCE

ACCESSIBILITY TO ALL SPACES & AMENITIES

A NATURAL LOOK & FEEL WAS MOST FAVOURED FOR THE BUILDING

Design & Create - Community Feedback Concept 01

Site works: Removal of toddler pool Reduction in green space Removal of some trees

Concerns Raised by the Community

Building’s bulky mass overshadowing pool and creating overlooking issues Exterior form and appearance with particular emphasis on building mass and appearance reflecting local character Conserving existing heritage of Town Hall Not enough parking provided by the development

slide-14
SLIDE 14

Design & Create - Community Feedback Concept 01

Other issues raised:

Heated pool and hydrotherapy No acknowledgement of First Australians No designated seniors space Future growth - possibility of allowing for this Public toilet access Is the site the correct one? Glass cleaning Storage provisions, lockable pigeon holes Heating of the void Noise, odour and practicalities of the Co-generation plant Limiting access throughout building in different modes
