Ashwell, M. (2002) Concepts of Functional Foods. ILSI - International LIfe Sciences Institute, Brussels. Japanese government (early 1980s) conducted three (3) large-scale studies; namely (a) Systematic analyzes and development of functional foods (b) Analyzes of physiological regulation of the functional food, and (c) Analyzes of functional foods and molecular design.

Ashwell, M. (2002) Concepts of Functional Foods. ILSI - International LIfe Sciences Institute, Brussels. 1991: Launched a specialized food categories, namely FOSHU; aims to provide

  • Security systems for the consumer  reduce health cost

and

  • System of incentives for industry to produce food that

is specifically designed to be able to solve the health problems faced by consumers Consumption of functional foods will be able to reduce the cost of national health.
