July Primary Runoff Elections

Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation postponing the Runoff Primary Elections until July 14, 2020.

  • In-person voting and voting by mail will both be available

for these elections.

  • A race where a candidate did not receive 50% plus 1

vote will be eligible for the runoff election.

  • Voters may only vote in one party’s primary election in a

calendar year. So, if you voted in the Republican Primary in March you must vote in the Republican Primary in July. If you voted in the Democratic Primary in March, you must vote in the Democratic Primary in July.

  • Voters who did not vote in the Primary in March must

choose which of the two parties runoff election they wish to participate in.
