Automation

WELL INTEGRITY An increase in either the annulus

  • r bradenhead pressure can

result in a well shut-in, increased workers, or a potentjal safety/ environmental incident. HEALTH & SAFETY Manual monitoring and repairs increase tjme in the fjeld, resultjng in elevated personnel risk and more exposure to site- related hazards. COMMUNICATION Lack of tjmely and reliable communicatjon leads to deferred/lost productjon and increased costs. ENVIRONMENTAL Leaks caused by mechanical failures can have an environmental impact. Early detectjon of abnormal conditjons such as sand and erosion can help avoid leaks and their consequences. MAINTAINING SECONDARY RECOVERY Non-monitoring of injectjon rates can lead to increased operatjng costs and in certain cases, decreased recovery effjciency and reduced productjon. CHANGING PRODUCTION A change in the fmow of pressure or temperature can indicate a reductjon in fmow leading to decreased productjon or wellborn damage.

Infrared inspectjon is the method of using thermal or heat imaging systems that detect heat and display these images on a TV type monitor.

The infrared image, or thermogram, is a physical evidence of the thermal anomaly that was found during the inspectjon, and is always the main feature in thermography reports. The infrared image provides surface temperature patuerns, which point to problem areas, and defects in equipment. Hot areas appear as a lighter color and cooler areas appear as darker colors. In productjon plants, offjce facilitjes, hospitals or

  • ilfjeld locatjons, an infrared camera instantly makes

hot spots visible on a clear thermal image. You can scan electrical motor control centers and components and survey multjple wires and connectjons to get an instant picture of potentjal trouble, detectjng the problem area and repair it before real problems occur. These problems cause downtjme and productjon losses in thousands of dollars. Hydrocarbon based gas leaks in productjon and processing facilitjes are easily and safely detected with the gas infrared camera with pinpoint accuracy.
