LO: To deconstruct a diary entry Stick your deconstruction in the middle of a double page in your book or on a large piece of paper. Use the key to find the features of the text. Colour code your key and underline each feature in a different colour. Complete Silver. When you have finished, explain ALL of the features you have identified and write a sentence about each one, explaining their job in the text. For example: apostrophe for possession - This is used to show ownership Stick your deconstruction in the middle of a double page in your book or on large piece

  • f paper. Use the key to find the features of the text. Underline each feature and

label the text around it. You do not need to do this in different colours. Challenge - Complete Gold and then look up the following words in a thesaurus: Make a list of alternative words (synonyms) in your book. Dilapidated, bleakness, terrain, rasping, searing and profusely. Choose bronze or silver, then move onto gold and challenge See next slide for instructions if you do not have a printer

* If you do not have a printer, for bronze, silver and gold, copy out features you have found, for example: Bronze and silver;

  • 1. Fronted subordinate clause- 'stepping off the bus'
  • 2. Hyphen- yellow-spotted

For gold, write new list explaining the job of each feature:

  • 1. Apostrophe for possession - This is used to show ownership
