The searing heat hit me like flames. The deadly heat engulfed me (which was as hot as a furnace) and it rapidly rushed down my throat leaving a terrible dryness. Walking across the bleak terrain, my heart dried up. The heat washed over me. A guard led me to the decrepit cabin as I looked around blankly. When I saw 'Camp Green Lake' I was not impressed with what was in front of me. It was not a lovely green camp, it was a dry, barren desert with prehistoric, dilapidated buildings and old, tattered hammock hung up between two trees. Yesterday, when I got off the hot, dusty bus all I could see was two oak trees with a hammock that we couldn't use. I could see the guard slumped against his sticky chair; I thought I could run for it but then I saw the cracked ground for miles and thought there was no point.
