Student Services – 16 Comments

We are in need of a "one stop" Student Services Building that includes all student services which includes a few class rooms classrooms for Student Success courses (listed under Counseling) and large workshops. I want to have all student services in one place. There are not enough spaces for students to hangout, study, build community. Library doesn't let you eat or drink water. Student Services (A&R, Financial Aid, Welcome Center) need a bigger space to serve students; and they need be on the same building because it's confusing for students. A Student Center provides the space needs for a one-stop student center that houses the multitude of services/programs in student affairs and the instructional support services, with large conference space to host various events (Program Ceremonies, Parent nights, Club events, etc.) The priorities do not specify space for student programs and such needs however there is a great need for a Student Center for housing all student and instructional support services.

General Classrooms & Labs – 17 Comments

Updated and functioning desks/tables & chairs in classrooms. I think we should update all classrooms, not just for a specific area or department. We have beautiful buildings like the PAC and then we have buildings like the 800 building. It looks run down and out of the 1970's. If we look like we are not investing in our students, then why would the county support a bond, why would students want to come here? Santa Rosa JC, Solano, DVC are not that far away. Normal classrooms need updated! Technology doesn't work, paint is peeling, heating and air seldom work right, roof's leak etc. Its embarrassing! Proper wireless infrastructure Large, flexible classrooms Updated space for student use Bring all classrooms up to modern standards and accessibility standards. Bring all science labs up to modern standards. Maintain buildings that we already have built.
