Edward Doheny was an oil tycoon that drilled the first prosperous oil well in Los Angeles, California



Ned Doheny (his son) commissioned the money to build this structure and its construction was completed in 1928



 Over 20 years later, after the murder

f Ned Doheny, Lucy Doheny (his

widow) sold the mansion to Henry Crown.

 Henry Crown rented the mansion

ut to film studios as a location for

shooting.

 The City of Beverly Hills ended up

purchasing the mansion and made the estate a city park before Henry Crown could demolish the mansion in 1963


