If your student is short credits or has failed a graduation required class, they will be referred by their counselor to one of our credit recovery options. Your student may also be referred for credit recovery to remediate a “D”, to satisfy college entrance requirements, or to improve their grade point average (if they fall below a 2.0).

  • SUMMER SCHOOL
  • INTERSESSION (Fall/Spring)
  • CONTRACT ACADEMY LEARNING (ONLINE CREDIT RECOVERY)

Academic Success

Studies indicate that parents who monitor their students academic progress / grades will mostly likely have students who :

  • Earns A’s , B’s, & C grades,
  • pass all of their classes,
  • attend school regularly and
  • graduate from high school and go on

to post-secondary education.

Weekly Progress Grade Check Form

Parents are able to use the Weekly Progress Check form in order to monitor: Grades & attendance, citizenship and homework on a weekly basis).

  • Weekly Progress Grade Check Forms are available:
  • at the Counseling Office
  • The Weekly Progress Grade Check Form will be completed on Wednesdays.
  • Your student will take form to:
  • to all of their current teachers.
  • teachers will complete the Weekly Progress Check Form and
  • return form to student at the end of the period.
  • On Wednesday night:
  • Please sit with your child and review the Weekly Progress Grade Check Form.
  • Are they completing all of their homework? Do they have A’, B’s or C’s?
  • Do they have any missing assignments? Do they have any D’ or F’s?
  • Please encourage your student to speak with their teachers and participate in

tutorials.

October, November & December of Fall 2019: University Admissions Exams (PSAT, SAT & ACT)

  • PSAT: 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will take this test on October 16th, 2019

○ Scores for the PSAT do not get sent to colleges, and are meant to help students practice and prepare for the SAT test

  • SAT: 11th grade students will usually take the SAT for the first time during their Spring

semester of Junior year and will take it at least once more during their Senior year
