vital for American economic competitiveness, and Hispanic Americans are underrepresented in science and engineering disciplines. The Committee provides $5,000,000…for NSF to implement an HSI Program that is designed to increase the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of Hispanic students pursuing associate or baccalaureate degrees in STEM fields.”

House CJS Subcommittee report:

  • “The Committee directs NSF to establish an HSI-specific program no

later than 120 days after enactment of this Act and demonstrate a $30,000,000 investment no later than September 30, 2017.”

  • Expands allowable uses of HEA Title V funds to:
