Golf R Final Edition
The Golf R Final Edition is a limited release special model to celebrate the conclusion to production for the seventh generation Golf R, our most successful R model to date. With generation highlights including our first ever Wolfsburg Edition as well as the offer of bespoke R Performance Options, the Golf R continues to be the leading small performance model in the market.
The Golf R Final Edition provides access to 3 very special custom order colours – Victory Blue, Violet Touch Pearlescent and Viper Green Metallic, a colour synonymous with the Scirocco sports coupe. With these Colour Concept colours available in very limited numbers, together with a range of signature series colours and additional premium equipment, the Golf R Final Edition is a worthy send off for our premium performance Golf model.
It may seem pretty simple to offer a car in a new colour, but the reality is vastly different. Specifically for the Colour Concept special colours, the Golf is removed from the Wolfsburg assembly line during production and taken to a special paint shop to be painted by hand, before returning to the production line for its finishing touches.
For the Golf R Final Edition we take inspiration from the Colour Concept special model of the third generation Golf. In Australia this came in the form of the VR6, the spiritual predecessor of the Golf R
