REASON FOR THE VERY LOW PLANT AVAILABILITY

Perennial weeds in the power channel and pond area of OHPC ’ s (Orissa Hydro Power Corporation) power plant which also choke the submerged trash rack resulting in head loss and reduced Generation.

Existing Gantry Obstructs Movement of TRCM

CHALLENGES

The existing 75 T Gantry on Intake that obstructs the movement

• f Trash Cleaning Mechanism on Intake.

Gantry crane is required for operation of Intake stop logs and

hence cannot be dismantled / removed from site.

Old trash rack panels No device to measure, check & provide warning about total head

loss due to chocking in submerged intake – i.e. absence of monitoring.

TECHNICAL PROPOSAL BY GMW

 Installation of new rails in existing intake for Trash Rack

Cleaning Machine.

 Design and Installation of custom made Trash Rack

Cleaning Machine to suit Intake.

 Providing additional Grappler Crane to lift bulk floating

debris.

 Machine to have feature to let Gantry cross over for

• peration of Stop Log Gates.

 Replacement of Trash Racks  Installation of continuous monitoring system.
