PCB Design(s)

  • Designed and developed two versions of the PCB board
  • Two additional boards were also sent out from Biorasis
  • Boards have been tested and we have proved functionality

SLIDE 5

Future Boards and Modularity

  • Smart watch system is modular
  • Processor board is independent of measurement board
  • Bottom measurement board can be adjusted for signal

Photodiode / LED Arrays

  • LED and Photodiode componentes have been attached
  • LED array is on a flex circuit, allowing for unconventional fitment
  • GaAs filter, will sit between the two arrays

Display and Interface

  • Two functioning push buttons and charging port
  • Accurate time clock and date
  • Animated graphical display of data
  • Ability to enter and exit from sleep mode

Basic Code Structure

1. Initialize the system. 2. Check if the smartwatch is active: a. If it is active: i. Run the smartwatch tasks. b. If it is not active: i. Enter deep sleep mode. ii. Wake up from deep sleep mode on system interrupt. 3. Repeat from number 2.

Watch Enclosure

  • Collaborated with ME team for base layout
  • Modeling is being done in Solidworks
  • Plan to use higher quality material for final print

Enclosure Next Steps

  • Design and print bottom case for complete containment
  • Configure push button mechanism
  • Bottom viewing window for LED light.
  • Ensure fitment of all components, and possibly scale down for aesthetics

Timeline

  • Change code to improve functionality and aesthetics:

(3/26/18 - 4/15/18)

  • Modify enclosure:

(4/7/18 - 4/20/18)

  • Debug and revise complete watch construction and code:

(4/2/18 - 4/20/18)
