Carbonium’s activity

CARBONIUM is an independent company involved in the carbon market as an emissions reduction projects originator and developer. We advise our clients in their effort to comply with the international legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through investments in the Kyoto Protocol’s project- based flexibility mechanisms such as Clean Development Mechanism and Joint Implementation. We assist them in originating, issuing and trading carbon credits. Carbonium has an extensive experience in credits issuing projects, more particularly in renewable energies (solar photovoltaic, hydroelectricity, and wind), energy efficiency, landfill and wastewater biogas, and electricity generation related

• technologies. CARBONIUM has a particular focus on countries, technologies and mechanisms eligible in

a post-2012 framework. Headquartered in Paris, we work with public institutions and private companies to assess their investment opportunities. We identify and develop CDM/JI projects, estimate their carbon assets and liabilities, and generate carbon credits with an industrial and institutional approach. As one of the first market entrants in 2004 and thanks to representative offices in Burkina Faso, Vietnam, Bolivia and China and strong partnerships in other countries, CARBONIUM seized the opportunity to build strong ties with the main national and international institutions and authorities committed in climate change mitigation. CARBONIUM supports the international regulation of carbon market and has recently contributed to a report published by the French government on this topic.
