  4. First things first… Identify the priority drug problem in your Native community 1. Southwest Oklahoma Underage Drinking and Prescription Drug Abuse/Misuse a. Identify key stakeholders with the same common goal 2. Elders ~ Parents ~ Community Members a. Indian Health Services Behavioral Health Department b. Area Native American clubs within the public schools c. Johnson O’Malley and Title VII Directors and Tutors d. Tribal, City, and County Law Enforcement e. Tribal Leaders and Departments f. Existing coalitions g. Setup a Meeting 3. Schedule your meeting time that best suits your stakeholders a. Provide a meeting space that is familiar to your Native audience b. Give advanced notice with friendly reminders of meeting date and time c. Use Sign-In sheets with name, number, and email address of attendees for future meetings d.

IAMNDN Accomplishments: • Featured on SAMHSA Website for Culture is Prevention (Winter 2015), & Presented Media Campaign at PFS New Grantee meeting in Bethesda, MD • Oklahoma Drug & Alcohol Professional Counselor Association (ODAPCA) selected Comanche Nation Prevention & Recovery Center’s IAMNDN as the Prevention Program of the year for the State of Oklahoma • Received Partnership For Success 5 year grant • Surgeon General Viveck Murthy held a Town Hall meeting in Oklahoma and met with and promoted the IAMNDN program
