Region’s Unique Characteristics

FLORIDA IS NOW THE 3rd MOST POPULATED STATE IN THE NATION Region: Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties Population: 5,784,043 (2010 U.S. Census) With over 100 cities, this region contains:

  • 4 of Florida’s 67 counties
  • 1/3 of the state population
  • Over 2 million acres of Conservation

Land - 38% of the Region’s total acreage

  • Water bodies that comprise another 40%
  • f the acreage approximately

Region includes Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach which comprise the fourth largest Urbanized Area in the nation living in the linear pale beige area depicted in the map to the right.

Natural Gas Fuel Fleet Vehicle Rebate Program and Moratorium on State Natural Gas Taxes Florida’s Natural Gas Incentives

Rebate Program & Tax Moratorium for 5 Years – 4+ years remaining Includes propane, CNG, and LNG First come, first served

Waste Management is converting its fleet to CNG. Miami-Dade County plans to do the same!

  • $6 million annually

with 40% reserved for government applicants and 60% for commercial applicants.

  • Maximum rebate of

$25,000 per vehicle and $250,000 per fleet per fiscal year.
