  4. About the program • Main aim of the program is to facilitate mobility of young researchers • The maximum(normal) duration of the project is 3 years • Every year a researcher can visit twice up to 3 months each time • The travel charges will be paid by respective governments and local hospitality will be extended by host institution (CAMPUS in case of France coordinates) 4

  5. Players in the program • Mainly driven by French foreign ministry • Higher Education ministry is fully kept engaged • CAMPUS France is main facilitator • The sixteen listed universities/Research centers will be directly engaged with six Pakistani universities for writing proposal and conduct of research 5

  6. Proposal Evaluation • Proposal will be submitted to HEC on Pakistan side and CAMPUS on french side • Both sides will formulate joint committee for evaluation after initial evaluation at each side • French foreign ministry and Higher education are involved on their side • Proposals are solicited till March every year and finalized by end of each year 9 Disciplinary “Master” Experts Mathematics Physics Marine / Earth / Planet Sciences Chemistry Biology and Health Humanities and Social Sciences Engineering Sciences Information Technology Agronomy / Food Science / Environment / Biodiversity 6

  7. CAMPUS Campus France will be mainly responsible for application call, hosting online application on Campus France web site. HEC do the same on Pakistan side For selected projects: accommodation arrangement, air ticket and disbursement of funds becomes responsibility of Campus France HEC is working out its procedure at our end which will be made available on their website very soon 7

  20. How to participate Participant Portal • Two year work programmes announce the specific areas that will be funded by Horizon 2020. Look out for them on the online Participant Portal as they can be used as a calendar for the calls for proposals (‘calls’), to be published during the year. • The Participant Portal is your entry point for electronic administration of EU-funded research and innovation projects, and hosts the services for managing your proposals and projects throughout their lifecycle. • Each call gives more precise information on the questions that the Commission would like you to address in your proposals. All calls can be found in the EU’s Official Journal – the official source for all EU documents – as well as on the Participant Portal 20

  21. Approval Process Submit your proposal before the deadline. The Participant Portal has clear instructions to guide you through the process. The system is simpler than ever – no more paper! All proposals are submitted online. Find your partners, many calls require a team of at least three partners. If you need help to identify a potential partner with particular competences, facilities or experience, use the partner search options. Evaluation by experts, all proposals are evaluated by a panel of independent specialists in their fields. Grant agreement, Once a proposal passes the evaluation stage (five months’ duration), applicants are informed about the outcome. The European Commission then draws up a grant agreement with each participant. The time limit for signing the grant agreements is generally three months. 21
