  2. Mission Statement The Wheatland-Chili Central School community is committed to academic excellence which empowers all individuals to become motivated learners and challenges them to excel as citizens in a global society.

  3. 2018-2019 Board of Education Priorities 1. Support high quality, individualized curriculum and student development of 21stCentury learning skills. 2. Improve engagement, communication, and customer service. 3. Encourage all students to meet college and career readiness expectations. 4. Support students in the development of social/emotional learning skills. 5. Institute, manage, and monitor the 2017 capital project to promote the mission and vision of the school.

Technology Upgrades  66 new Recordex boards and Miracast devices  700 student devices imaged (new) and reimaged “Technology as a  80 new teacher devices imaged lever for learning"  60 lab computers reimaged  20 new Mac computers in labs  20 laptop carts rewired/assembled  200 iPads connected to new management system

Rationale Office of Educational Technology Requires a Plan Students understand how to use technology as a tool to engage in creative, productive, life-long learning rather than simply consuming passive content. SUNY Brockport Work Group: ● Recommended framework designed to build a foundational understanding of the ISTE standards and information, communication and technology skills as it relates to student learning ● Framework serves as draft template to build and expand K-12 Scope and Sequence

Technology Summer Work  Unpack the ISTE Standards for Students  Identify key elements of the standard  Skills embedded within the standard  Classroom implication for students and teachers (based on the standard)  Wheatland-Chili Technology Plan  Review and identify student achievement benchmarks  How do these align with the current ISTE requirements?  K-12 Scope and Sequence  Identify the concrete skills students will need to be able to do at each grade  ISTE Standards for Educators  What are our professional needs to support technology integrations and student mastery of the information, communication and technology skills (ICT)

  13. Vision Summer work group was asked: What is the aspiration for the use of instructional technology in the district? Answer: Wheatland-Chili is committed to fostering a community of vibrant, self-directed learners who are innovative and responsible digital citizens challenged to collaborate in a global society.

  14. Goal Setting  What are the three goals to support our vision? 1. Provide technology responsive environment to support teaching and learning 2. Increase equitable access and technology-rich learning experiences 3. Provide relevant and rigorous professional development for teachers and leaders in the integration of learning technologies

Technology Plan in Action Action Steps Build capacity and awareness by unpacking the ISTE standards (Summer 2018) Create a vertically-aligned scope and sequence (2018-2021) Support teachers with professional learning through the Teacher Center and out of district conferences Purchase of flexible seating to support 21 st century classrooms – pilot classrooms at MS/HS and SSC at TJC (2018-2019) Continuous monitoring of standards and implementation through Bright Bytes Surveys
