The exchange between ICG&JCG started in 2000 with M/V Alondra Rainbow incident as a trigger, that was hijacked after departure for Japan from Indonesia in Oct 1999. In Nov 1999, the ship was captured by Indian Coast Guard. M/V AR is Panama- flagged cargo vessel, 7,762GT, operated by Specification of Settsu Chennai, India Japanese company, about 7,000-ton 26-31 Jan Gross tonnage: 3,111tons aluminum ingots loaded. All crew including Length overall: 105m, breadth: 15m 2 Japanese were safely rescued in Thai Equipment: 35mm machine gun (1), waters . 20mm machine gun (1) 2. At High Level Meeting (HLM) between One helicopter on board (Bell 212) ICG-DG & JCG Commandant, regular mutual Commission: September 1984 visit of both heads was agreed in Nov 2000. Built: Sumitomo Heavy Industry Ltd. For further cooperation, Memorandum on Cooperation between ICG&JCG was signed in Nov 2006, including mutual visits of ships to each other’s countries. 3. This is the 11 th HLM, 10 th combined exercise and 5 th port visit to India (3 visits Singapore to Chennai and 2 visits to Mumbai). 20-21 Jan Combined Exercise
