EUROLAB - Partner in the ECVET-Lab Project
EUROLAB is an official partner of ECVET-Lab Project which is a European project funded by the ERASMUS+ programme of the European Commission. The Project will contribute to the implementation and validation of the non-formal training on environmental best practices for environmental testing laboratory technicians. The specific objective of ECVET-Lab Project is the creation of an Online Training Course addressed to laboratory technicians, especially from Environmental Testing Laboratories, which will aim to provide highly useful knowledge on sustainable best practices and will be structured in accordance with the principles of the ECVET System (European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training). DURATION: 2 years. 01/10/2016 – 30/09/2018
International Cooperation
✓ The EUROLAB Political Strategy aims, among others, to increase the visibility of the laboratory community and to promote meetings with the EU institutions and relevant stakeholders. ✓ In line with this strategy, EUROLAB has created Experts Advisory Groups (EAGs) in key areas e.g. Health & Safety; Calibration & Metrology; Consumer Products; Energy & Energy Efficiency; Medical Laboratories & Devices; Chemicals; Accreditation; Food Agriculture & Animal Health etc… ✓ Comprising subject matter experts from the EUROLAB members, these EAGs help to establish and maintain relations with EU institutions (e.g. the European Commission) and stakeholders. ✓ The aim is to create a network of contacts, who will often communicate between them and will engage with the European Commission, e.g. by providing their input on arising issues.
EUROLAB Activity Highlights for 2017/2018
➢ Update the EUROLAB Communication Strategy; ➢ Organise meetings with various stakeholders, partners (e.g. UILI, EURAMET, ➢ EURACHEM, IMEKO) and EU officials to raise our visibility, to discuss topics of common interest, develop or improve future cooperation; ➢ Develop institutional representation and international cooperation; ➢ Further develop and improve the communication between the EUROLAB Experts Advisory Groups (EAGs); ➢ Identification of new areas of interest for EUROLAB; ➢ Participation in European projects.
As part
the 2017 Communications strategy, EUROLAB has prepared a communications package that was distributed to various relevant stakeholders. The package includes: ➢ The EUROLAB Policy Paper; ➢ The EUROLAB Position Paper First-, second- and third-party testing – how and when; ➢ The EUROLAB Annual Report 2016; ➢ The EUROLAB leaflet.
