EU’s Water Framework Directive (WFD) adopted in 2000 Complemented by specific directives: Bathing water Drinking water Nitrate Aimed to achieve ‘good’ status by 2015 all waterbodies (extended to 2021/27) Updated WFD Regulations 2017 WFD will still be relevant after BREXIT
