Supporting and challenging learners

I’m always on the lookout for ways to support and challenge the different levels in my class. My groups are a mix of different abilities and skills. I usually have to teach to the middle. It’s difficult to support students at the extremes of the class.

Just over half of the class are managing well.

They need to be able to maintain their focus and attention.

Around 25% struggle to use the language.

They could do with more support.

A small group of learners are more able and more confident.

They could be challenged further.
