Mission:
The Department of Health and Wellness promotes Framingham Public Schools’ academic mission by supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and development of our diverse student population and the greater school community.

- Coordinator. Full time social worker responsible to
assist students transitioning back to school after hospitalization for mental illness; facilitates private therapists to provide counseling to students after school.
McKinney Vento Social W orker. Full time social
worker responsible for intensive case management
- f homeless students at all grade levels; funded by
McKinney Vento and Title I.
Supports
Rapid Assessment Intervention Team (RAIT). Collaboration between Framingham Public Schools, Advocates, Inc. and Wayside Youth and Family Support Network - 2 full time mental health clinicians responsible to assess students in a mental health crisis, provide stabilization and connection to behavioral health resources; funded by the MetroWest Health Foundation. Mindfulness Training at Framingham High School: targeted at risk youth, new ELL students, LGBTQ students, Academically struggling or over-achieving students, pregnant and parenting students, 9th grade Resiliency for Life students
Adolescent Health Nurses. Prevention of teen pregnancy with focus on high risk behaviors and promotion of health relationships; case management for pregnant and parenting teens. “Wishes. Promoting Adolescent Health and School Success.” A five year program to create safe and supportive learning environments with a focus on LGBTQ; funded by DESE. “School Based Health Center.” Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center at Framingham High School; funded by MA DPH and MetroWest Health Foundation.
