06/09 09/2 /2017 FOLLO LOW W UP - HOMICIDE ICIDE INVES VESTIG TIGATION TION (5200 0 BLK CANAL L BLVD) On 06/09/17 around 7:05 a.m., an off duty NOPD officer found the body of an unknown black male lying unresponsive in the grass at 5200 Block of Canal Blvd on private property.

Homicide Detectives determined the victim was shot during a home invasion in Mississippi and his body was dumped in Lakeview. The incident occurred in Mississippi.

On 12/04/17 around 11:00 p.m., an aggravated assault occurred in the 5100 block of Canal Blvd whereby a verbal altercation at a bar resulted in the accused subject pointing a firearm at the patrons outside the location before fleeing the area in a vehicle. In a follow-up investigation, the perpetrator was positive identified as Mr. Bobbie Roberts, b/m, born 05/08/1981 On 12/21/17 at 4:20 p.m., Mr. Roberts was taken into custody by members of the NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad and charged accordingly.

On 12/28/17 at 17:05 hours, officers were dispatched to investigate shots fired in the area of Clayton & Memphis St., Officers arrived and located a black male, age 30, in the block suffering from gun shots wounds he received while seated in his vehicle after arriving at the location. Investigation is ongoing.
