  • Educational transfer station tours
  • School-based student action projects
  • Technical assistance

At the October 25 WMA meeting, staff will present an overview of the schools program. Additionally, students from Castro Valley’s SMART Environmental Club will provide an overview of how they have applied learnings from the StopWaste Schools Program into their sustainability efforts.  4th Grade Field Trip  Grades 4-6

4Rs Student Action Projects

Bring academic fun and the 4Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot (compost) into the classroom. Students engage in project-based learning and develop skills to make a difference in their school and their community. StopWaste Ambassador Program (SWAP)

SWAP offers a range of services to help advance environmental education and leadership in Alameda County middle and high schools. Programs include:

  • Service learning projects

Develop leadership and organizing skills through community based projects.

  • Action planning field trips

Trips to local transfer stations where students develop and plan waste reduction action projects.

  • Camp Arroyo leadership weekend

School Program Overview

For Alameda County Public Schools Field trips to the StopWaste Education Center
