  3. Agricultural Soil of Bangladesh  It is divided into three physiographic units having three distinct geological ages, such as: (1) Tertiary hills (12 %) (2) Pleistocene terraces (8%) and (3) Recent floodplains (80%).  More than 60% of the land is used under agricultural purposes. ( BBS , 2012)  Agricultural land is declining by 1 percent per year (R.N. Roy & A.T.M. Farid, 2011)  Reason of Land quality & fertility deteriorating is given below: a. Degradation of soil fertility b. Intensive cropping & HYV crop cultivation. c. Soil erosion and soil salinity. d. Excessive use of chemical fertilizer & pesticide . e . Natural calamities .  Average Organic matter content is less than 1.% in our soil .  It is alarming that about 1.8 million,0.4 million and 1 million hectares of land are severely deficient in phosphorus, potassium and sulphur, respectively ( BRRI and BARI research reports ) .

  4. Trends of fertilizer use in Bangladesh  The main NPK fertilizers used in Bangladesh are urea, TSP, DAP and MOP.  About 60 percent of the total annual requirement for fertilizers is used during the HYV Boro season (Jan – Mar).  In the year of 1991-1992 total chemical fertilizer used 2.28 million tones.  But in the year of 2010- 2011 it was 4.33 million tones.  It was reported that the average application of chemical fertilizer was only 24 kg per hectare during 1965-70 and it has dramatically 8 fold (160kg/ha) in creased by the year of 2000-01. (BBS,2007& 2012)

  21. Mazim Trichodermin Trichoderma is a soil fungi which occur in all type soil. Mazim Organic Fertilizer is a Trichoderma incorporated organic fertilizer which is environmental friendly and 100% organic product. During composting of OM & final packaging of Organic fertilizer Trichoderma spore & mycelia fragments are added. Mazim Organic Fertilizer could be used in different fields for different purposes, such as :  It could suppress or control plant diseases, especially the disease invade the plants via roots.  It could increase the population density of beneficial micro-organism in soil as a result soil micro nutrient, soil health and fertility would be increased.  It helps to increase macro & micro nutrients for plant health, growth and vigor, as a result crop production would be improved.  It reduces the use of chemical fertilizers and insecticide.  It could control soil salinity, pH, soil pollution and also could save soil bio- diversity.
