How can you help your daughter in Social Studies and History?
Model and encourage the reading of newspapers (especially on Governance, Conflict, Globalisation, Healthcare) Ask her questions: – Why do you think this article was published? – What makes this article trustworthy? – How useful is this information to a Singaporean?

How can you help your daughter in Geography?
If you are with your daughter near a tourist attraction or coast, ask her the following questions: – What type of tourism phenomena can we investigate here? How would you investigate your hypothesis? – Is this beach eroding? How can you prove it? – Describe the weather this week? Can you explain it?
Crescent Girls’ School
Why ask her these questions?
I don’t even know the answers myself.
The key behind the questions is not a matter of correct or incorrect answers. It is to stimulate thinking. Many of the new syllabus questions focus on practical, common sense knowledge and understanding
