IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOUR TEAM?

This course is for: y Anyone who needs to give presentations to groups of people. y These presentations can vary from occasional briefjngs to 5 to 10 people, through to presentations to hundreds of people. y Trainers who feel confjdent they can train but want to add some polish to their presentation style.

ILM APPROVAL

This one day course is approved and monitored by the Institute of Leadership and Management. The ILM are the largest UK provider of management awards and qualifjcations and are part of the City and Guilds group. On attending the course delegates can receive an ILM Certifjcate and one year’s studying membership of the ILM. There is an additional fee of £49.00 + VAT per delegate for this entirely optional package.

This lively and interactive course will help delegates develop and hone their skills so they are able to deliver efgective presentations with maximum impact. y Learn to present data and complex information in an understandable, confjdent, attention grabbing and memorable way. y Develop skills in using voice to create interest and emphasise key messages y Develop the skills and knowledge to create impact and gain and hold the audience’s interest y Learn how to efgectively use visual aids y Learn to use common presentation equipment professionally and in a way that enhances the efgectiveness of the presentation y Learn to use PowerPoint in a way that helps, not hinders the presentation y Develop skills to encourage, control and direct discussion Pre course questionnaires We send all delegates a pre course questionnaire, so we can understand their individual needs and objectives. Course tailoring We use your training objectives and delegate questionnaire responses to produce a tailored training programme that is unique to you and that fjts the needs of your delegates and your business. Video We use video to record delegates’ practice presentations. We then give clear feedback to each delegate. While we record delegates presenting to the whole group, each individual will review only his or her presentation. Comprehensive course materials At the course delegates receive full colour copies of slides and supplementary support material. Post course support We provide six months’ post course e-mail / telephone support from our expert team - Delegates can get in touch with us regarding anything from a quick question to a whole presentation for review.

Also included in the price: Detailed pre course discussions For all in-house courses, we will want to discuss your needs in detail. We will arrange this via an on-site visit, extended phone conversation or webinar session. Course Modules

SESSION 1 -INTRODUCTION

We discuss: y The purpose of a presentation y What’s involved in preparing and delivering a presentation y The presenter’s motivation y Delegates will work as teams to identify what makes for a good or bad (!) presentation. This module also includes delegates’ fjrst presentation - This will take the form of a short recorded session. We will suggest a choice of topics.

SESSION 2 - NON VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS

We help delegates use all the difgerent aspects of non verbal communication to make a real impact on their audience. Theses include: y Body language y Voice y Tone y Mannerisms y Dress y Passion for the subject Delegates will also have chance to practice: y Difgerent ways of standing y The use of your voice y Efgective eye contact to build rapport We review the difgering impact that non verbal communications will have on the audience: y Are they persuaded, motivated and involved y Or coerced, de-motivated and uninvolved?

SESSION 3 - PREPARATION

We discuss and provide guidance on all aspects of presentation: y What do the audience expect or need? y What is the objective of training? y How presentation materials can help y Brainstorming methods y Structuring presentation content y Testing the content As part of this module delegates will have chance to prepare a short presentation that they will deliver later.

SESSION 4 - VISUAL AIDS

We will give delegates tips on: y The best use of visual aids y Use of PowerPoint including colour, layout and animation y Use of fmip charts – a powerful, sometimes overlooked aid to presenting

SESSION 5 - FINAL PRESENTATION

Delegates will deliver a 5 to 10 minute presentation. We will then give each delegate constructive feedback on their session.

SESSION 6 - CONCLUSION

We will review the key points from the day. We will also provide each delegate with a copy of both their recorded presentations. We run this workshop as ‘hands-on’ session with plenty
  • f opportunity for delegates to practice preparing and
delivering a range of presentations in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. We provide constructive feedback throughout the workshop.
