  1. Coronavirus Community Support Fund (CCSF) Working with Communities during the Pandemic

  2. Coronavirus Community Support Fund (CCSF) In May, The UK government announced £200m in funding to support • communities through COVID-19, The Coronavirus Community Response Fund. This funding is being delivered by the National Lottery Community Fund across England. The CCSF programme focuses on funding projects and organisations helping • communities through the COVID-19 pandemic • Unfortunately, the funding available won’t enable us to fund everyone. We do believe we can still make a huge difference by getting this to those who need it most so they can respond to the pandemic. • We expect this COVID-19 focus to last for up to six months since its launch on 22 May 2020. However, due to the high demand for support, it is important to look at our website regularly for updates about this funding stream or to talk to our Advice Line 028 9568 0143. 2

  3. What can we fund?.. We are prioritising COVID-19 projects: • Organisations supporting people who are at high risk from COVID-19 • Organisations supporting people most likely to face increased demand and challenges as a result of the COVID-19 crisis • Organisations which connect communities and support communities to work together to respond to COVID-19 We can also help if you are an organisation struggling financially because of COVID-19 3

  4. What we can fund. We can fund: staff salaries project activities running costs small-scale refurbishment equipment organisational development contributions to fixed costs investments in your systems investments in your people investments in your infrastructure dedicated capacity development. We can't fund: activities that make profits for private gain religious activities (but we can fund religious organisations if their project benefits the wider community and doesn’t include religious content) activities that replace government funding (for example, we can only fund school activities that happen outside of normal teaching hours) activities that benefit individuals, rather than the wider community political activities things you’ve spent money on in the past and are looking to claim for now loan repayments. 4

  5. What can we fund?.. We expect a high demand for funding and we can't fund everyone. We will prioritise: Organisations supporting people and communities who experience disproportionate challenge and difficulty as a result of the COVID-19 crisis We are looking particularly at organisations supporting older people, disabled people (including people with long-term health conditions) and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) & LGBTQ+communities who are all facing specific challenges during the current crisis. We are also looking at supporting organisations who provide advice and support to those pushed into crisis and those supporting end of life care and their families. 5

  6. Who can we fund?.... You can apply if you’re a: • voluntary and community organisation • registered charity or charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) • partnership of organisations, as long as they're led by a voluntary or community organisation • not for profit company including companies limited by guarantee and Community Interest Companies with two or more directors • Please note that we cannot fund statutory services through the CCSF fund eg. local authorities or schools 6

  7. Our CCSF grant offers Simple Grants Programme CCSF Apply for funding from £300 to £10,000 over 6 months. Standard Grants Programme CCSF . Apply for funding from £10,000 to £100,000 over 6 months. Organisations can only apply once for CCSF funding. If an application is unsuccessful, unfortunately, the organisation will not be able to re-apply. We will consider larger awards or longer timeframes particularly for organisations working across more than one area of England on a case by case basis. We are currently not accepting applications that are not COVID-19 related as all our resources need to be focused on helping communities through the pandemic. 7
