CONNECTING THE ATRIUM TO THE LAB BUILDING

In order to have the students quickly move in and out the building we propose that the main lobby be adjacent to the atrium entrance of the building. This will allow easy access to the atrium and the proposed green roof of the atrium. Also exposing that face with glass will hopefully cause students to use the green roof space unlike our current quad adjacent to

  • ur atrium in Namm where

no one dares to enters.

LAB BUILDING CIRCULATION

We propose that the stair case be laid out in this manner in that two of the stair lead directly to the outside of the building. While on of the stair wells lead right into the main lobby for exit. Notice that the triangle the stair cases form implies that the travel distance the students will need to reach a means of egress is uniform overall. Allowing for safe and effjcient evacuation if necessary. No dead end corridors exist as they can lead to a need for extra fire stairs. And two out of the three stairs are adjacent to an elevator minimizing the need for shafts.

May be more comfortable, but only recommendable if a lot

Retractable Seating

More convenient because when not in use; seats will not take up much space. Some events require less seating and more space for
