OVERALL COORDINATION CONCEPT � City is actively coordinating with the various projects in downtown Berkeley � Most of the construction projects in this area are by outside agencies and private developers (not the City) � Purpose of Coordination: � Maintain access to buildings by keeping pedestrian walkways open � Maintain traffic flow on Shattuck Ave corridor by minimizing lane closures � Retain the current level of commercial loading zones � Provide continued access for waste collection

Lane closures on northbound Shattuck Ave for EBMUD water line relocation 2. Sidewalk and lane closures for Phase 1 of Shattuck Reconfiguration project 3. � OVERVIEW OF MAJOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS � Shattuck Reconfiguration and Pedestrian Safety project (City project) � Other public agency projects � Private development � RESOURCES FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND QUESTIONS

TEMPORARY RELOCATION OF BUS STOPS DUE TO MULTIPLE PROJECTS � Relocation of bus stops from northbound Shattuck Ave between Center St and Allston Wy � Affects AC Transit lines 7, 18, 51B, 52, 65, 67, 79, 604, 605, 800, 851, and F � 1/28/19 – Begin temporary closure of parking area between Allston Wy and Kittredge St to construct temporary bus stop � 2/18/19 – Begin operations at temporary bus stop location � Fall 2019 – Relocate bus stops to permanent location between Center St and Allston Wy. Restore parking area at temporary bus stops.

LANE CLOSURES ON NB SHATTUCK AVE FOR EBMUD WATER LINE RELOCATION � Replacement of water line in east leg (northbound) Shattuck Ave � Phased construction. Work during daytime hours; minimum one lane open at all times. � 2/11/19 – Start work at north end. Work will generally progess southward. � May 2019 – Estimated completion

SIDEWALK AND LANE CLOSURES FOR PHASE 1 OF SHATTUCK RECONFIGURATION PROJECT � Major goal of project is to improve pedestrian safety at the University/Shattuck intersection. Phased construction. � Phase 1 – Sidewalk work on west leg (southbound) Shattuck Ave. Closure of curbside lane and narrowing of sidewalk to minimum 8 feet. � No traffic detours � 1/28/19 – Start sidewalk demolition work � April 2019 – Estimated completion of Phase 1
