Ceremony Details

  • Principal opens ceremony
  • Each campus will have no more than four student speakers (Valedictorian, Salutatorian, Opening &

Closing addresses)

  • Graduates will walk from two sides of the stage alternating last names for example A-L stage left &

M-Z stage right

  • Ceremony ends with singing of Alma Mater and no formal recessional
  • Band/Orchestra/Choir - all student performers will be in full regalia
  • Robes for row leaders and stage participants
  • Recognitions conferred by campuses include DAP, Honor Graduates, IB, Academies, and Top Ten

Security Reminders

Every single person that enters the Events Center will be REQUIRED to go through security screening magnetometers.

  • Bags, purses, and backpacks will be searched
  • Cell phones needed to be held in the hand upon search
  • Refusing to go thru the search will result in not being allowed into the event center
  • Discreet search for elderly and people who have health issues

Local Board Policy FNA

  • Disclaimer of Local Policy FNA must be printed on the program
  • Procedure for Opening and Closing Remarks reviewed:

○ The principal will ask those eligible students if anyone would like to volunteer for the opening and closing remarks ○ Volunteer names go into a drawing - 1st name drawn does the opening remarks, 2nd name drawn does the closing remarks ○ If no one volunteers, then there are no opening or closing remarks from students ○ Principals notify the students whose names are drawn, the list of prohibited items found in Local Board Policy FNA ○ Principals review the student speeches and follow guidelines set in policy and ensure speeches are a reasonable time limit
