BACKGROUND

• 569-acre property owned by the PA Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) located in the Eastern portion of Exeter

Township.

• Historical birthplace and boyhood home of iconic pioneer Daniel Boone.
• Purchased by the Commonwealth in 1937 to be “…preserved as a historical place and park for the benefit of the people of

the Commonwealth.”

• Exeter Township currently leases 31-acres utilized as Pineland Park.

GOALS

1. Preserve and Enhance Historical Experience/Promote Historic Core. 2. Expand Recreational Opportunities. 3. Assess Natural Features and Site Hydrology to Create Community Attraction. 4. Protect Natural Resources and Address Stormwater Issues. 5. Address Site Circulation and Parking Improvements.

PLANNED CAPITAL PROJECTS

• Sanitary Sewer System Improvement Project.
• ADA Restroom Renovations at Visitor Center.
• Bridge Renovation Project.
• Paving Project at Second Entrance (Temporary
