  6. TRANSCRIPTS  What is your GPA?  Only report the cumulative GPA to colleges!  Are you eligible for the Hope Scholarship?  Are you on track to graduate?  Do you qualify for an Honors Diploma and if so, which one?  What is your Focus Area?

  7. CREDIT RECOVERY AND DUAL ENROLLMENT  Credit Recovery will begin second semester.  Dual Enrollment classes - please send proof of course registration to your counselor if you haven’t already.  Dual Enrollment courses will show as a pass/ fail on transcripts.

  8. ACT The ACT is also a requirement for • graduation. Since the class of 2021 was not able to • take the “Junior ACT” in March, there will be a FREE ACT during the school day on September 22, 2020. All seniors will take the ACT that morning here at BHS. There is no registration or fee required. Seniors will also be given ONE voucher to • take the ACT in December for free one time. For more information, go to • www.ACTstudent.org . The table to the right shows the current • additional options for the ACT test given on Saturdays. All of this can change depending on • circumstances as the year continues.

  9. COLLEGE APPLICATIONS What’s the process?

POLICY  Students are allowed 4 college visits.  Students will be exempt from exams if they have an A and have no unexcused absences.  There is No Ranking at BHS.  Students will only report Weighted GPA. We do not provide an unweighted GPA.  Please understand that the “HOPE” GPA is not the same as an unweighted GPA!

T YPES OF COLLEGE APPLICAT ION PLAT FORMS  University Applications (usually found on the college’s website)  Common Application  Coalition  Deadlines: every college has different application and scholarship deadlines. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW YOUR COLLEGES’ DEADLINES.  Apply well in advance of holidays and/ or weekends. Be sure to check time zone differences for each college deadline.  ACT/ SAT/ AP Scores must be ordered from ACT or Collegeboard website.
