  3.  If students are ill during the school day, they must go to the Attendance Office to contact parent.  If students are late, they must check in at the attendance office  Absences need to be cleared within 5 days  Students may never leave campus during the school day without a yellow “Early Dismissal”  Parents may only clear 10 absences for illness, after that all absences are considered “unexcused.”

  4.  Emergency cards need to be updated through the parent portal each year so we have the most current information.  We cannot release students to anyone that is not listed on the emergency card.

  5.  Missing 3 or more days may request homework by calling the front desk (916) 971-5051  Missing less than 3 days should contact the teacher by email or phone for assignments  Home/Hospital Instruction is available if student will be out a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks.  Short Term Independent study is designed for students who will miss school for 5 days or more. A 5 day prior notice is needed.

  11.  For the 2020 AP Exams, students will be registering online at https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/050912  AP Exam cost is $100 per exam  Please see Ms. Pedretti or Mrs. Hodge is needing financial assistance  Exam registration ends Friday, November 8, 2019 at 11:59pm  ALL exams ordered after November 8 th will have a $40 late fee  ALL exams cancelled after November 8 th will have a$40 cancellation fee

  15.  Career Technical Colleges  Community College  Specialized training such as  Associates degrees, Career automotive, business, computer Technical Certificates or science, cosmetology, health Apprenticeship – earn while care, etc. you learn  College/University  Transfer to CSU/UC programs  Baccalaureate degrees  Military/Armed Services

  16.  Four year State Colleges and Universities have required classes for admission (CSU & UC)  A-G Requirements  Private Universities have requirements that are unique to each institution  Community Colleges do not require A-G completion  I encourage ALL students to stay on track for A-G completion

  17.  (A) 2 year of History/Social Science  (B) 4 years of English  (C) 3 years of Mathematics (through Integrated Math 3)  (D) 2 years of Science — 2 of which must be a lab based science courses  (E) 2 years of Language other than English  (F) 1 year Visual or Performing Art  (G) 1 College Prep elective course * Recommended: 4 years math, 3 years science, 3 years LOTE

  18.  ACT Plus Writing or SAT with Essay  Not all schools require the essay’s but it is a good idea to take it anyway  Must be completed by December of Senior year BUT some schools will have different deadlines for tests they accept.  Some campuses may recommend SAT Subject Tests for specific majors

  20.  Includes a Reading, Writing & Language, & Math test  There is an optional essay component which some colleges require  Scale ranging from 400-1600, essay results reported separately  No Penalty for guessing  You simply earn points for the questions you answer correctly

  21.  Includes English, Math, Reading, & Science tests  There is an optional writing test which some colleges require  Scores range 1-36 for each of the 4 tests, your composite score is the average of those

  22.  Based on “A - G” courses completed in 10 th and 11 th grade, including summer courses  Minimum: 3.0 weighted GPA (for CA Residents)  Minimum: 3.4 weighted GPA (for non-CA Residents)  Recommended to look at GPA average admittance rate for schools you are considering

  23.  PSAT: October 16, 2019  National Merit Qualifier  SAT/ACT with Writing: Spring 2020, try to improve and test again BEFORE October 2020
