Un Univ iver ersity ity Up Update

  • Online learning for weeks 1-3
  • This is potentially looking to be online for quite some time after this with some

courses not on campus until week 7-10

  • Option of online learning for whole of semester one is currently in discussion
  • On campus activity and “Welcome”
  • Freshers will be moving into halls over a much longer period of time
  • “Welcome” – freshers week will be extended over the first 3-4 weeks
  • No organised on-campus freshers activity at this time from the Union, including the

Union building

  • Following these decisions, sports fair cannot occur during weeks 1-3
  • Library opening soon and Click & Collect in operation

2020/21

  • BUCS Leagues due to start in January 2021. The 2020-21 BUCS

competition calendar for individual events is to be released by the end of August - it will differ from normal as BUCS focus on delivering them in-line with new safety guidelines.

  • SSS are currently evaluating what will be run and these conversations

are being had currently, better idea expected by the end of August

and Protect and you will not be able to attend sessions if you do not sign up.

Tr Training & Facilities

Training:

  • Booking systems: all training sessions will need accurate registers of

attendees and you will need to abide by capacity limits Strathclyde SPORT

  • Have prepared for opening for 7th September but pushed to 14th Sept to be in

line with gov regs. Initially will be weekdays 8am-8pm

  • Bookable slots to use the gym, with classes to be running from opening date
  • Training slots may be reduced to allow for cleaning between sessions

Stepps Playing Fields

  • Opening for PDGE students
  • Initially will be weekdays
  • Ground improvements have been carried out and lighting explored, as

anticipated more outdoor activity

  • Currently across the sector some organisations are reducing their fees
  • We are currently appraising the Sports Union membership fee and

the Sports Exec are feeding into this

  • In addition to this we plan to provide guidance on club bolt-on

membership fees
