- 1. Qualifica+on: Ini$ally ensures the ba0ery is in good condi$on
before launching of normal charge processes. As a safety measure charge processes will not begin if ba0ery is below 3 volts.
- 2. Ba1ery Rescue*: Ba0ery Rescue starts if ba0ery voltage has
risen unusually high in the early por$on of the recharge cycle. This is usually caused by plate sulfa$on. Once the ba0ery rescue phase has succeeded in geAng the ba0ery to accept power, normal ba0ery charging will begin.
- 3. So: Start*: SoD Start is applied when the charger has detected a
ba0ery at a very low ini$al state of charge. Voltage and current are delivered at a specified rate to help the ba0ery to recover prior to entering pulse charge mode. 4.Pulse Mode*: Pulse mode provides a pulse charge to help the newly recovered ba0ery to con$nue to accept charge as it enters the Recondi$oning phase. To maintain the ba0ery at a full state of charge
- 5. Recondi+oning*: The Recondi$oning phase follows when the Pulse Mode is
completed, charging at a slightly higher voltage and amperage to “re-ac$vate” the ba0ery plates allowing for an improved charge acceptance and depth of charge.
- 6. Bulk Charge: With the ba0ery now having gone through Qualifica$on and Recovery
phases as needed the Bulk Charge phase gives the ba0ery constant current, taking the ba0ery up to 80% of its full capacity. 7.Absorp+on: In the Absorp$on phase the ba0ery is given constant voltage while current is reduced based on ac$ons taken from ongoing ba0ery monitoring un$l the ba0ery is 100% charged.
- 8. Analysis (Check): The Ba0ery will now be checked to ensure that it is holding a
charge properly and the charger will determine if the ba0ery is ready for use or not.
- 9. Maintenance: The ba0ery can be leD safely connected to the charger indefinitely.
