- June 2017 – We committed to Character
Education when I started – part of my interview – bought in Mr Parnell vision
- Focus groups with 150+ students
- Questioned staff about ‘core purpose and
values’
What We Found Out
- 0 students knew the six United

- Students stated we had between

July 2018 Update
- Character working party now in place.
- Tutor time resources for Character been delivered this year – building these resources for next year
- Character sessions in CLT for Middle leaders
- All staff to attend at least 1 learning hub on Character next year
- Introduction of Integrity and Tolerance as Character values this term – Assemblies and tutor time activities
- Resilience programme for targeted Year 7 students
- Anti-bullying leaders being established
- Trialling of Character lessons and building into SOW for all departments for September
- Character as part of staff induction programme
- PSHCE – Character theme running throughout year
- Academic mentoring starting and will be embedded for Sept 2018
- Peer mentoring now having a focus around core values and tolerance/integrity
- ‘Them and Us’ – picking apart the programme and starting to embed the material of use for September 2018
- Co-curricular programme developed for Sept 2018 – Latin, Astronomy, Mandarin etc…
