  2. February 21: Olympic Spirit Celebration Vancouver Curling Club at Hillcrest Centre Olympian Jennifer Heil & Paralympian Elisabeth Walker-Young and Chair Mackinnon joined Commissioners Evans, Crawford, and Vancouver Sport Network members.

  3. February 26 & 27: VanPlay Deep Dives Roundhouse Community Centre & City Hall Staff Jennifer Trach and parkour representatives Rene Scavington and Jane Henry joined Chair Mackinnon at a City Hall VanPlay Deep Dive workshop focused on sport services.

  4. February 27: On Water Creekside Community Centre Staff Megan Herod and Erin Embley joined Chair Mackinnon, Commissioner Crawford and many residents at the On Water open house.

  5. February 28: Pink Shirt Day Chair Mackinnon and Commissioners Crawford, Shum, Wiebe, Kirby-Yung, Coupar, and Evans proudly wore their pink.

  6. March 1: Backyard Bird Garden VanDusen Botanical Garden Vice Chair Evans and Commissioner Coupar joined children from Emily Carr Elementary School, staff, and Anna’s Hummingbird for the official opening of the Backyard Bird Garden.

  7. March 1: Zero Waste Centre 8588 Yukon Street Commissioner Wiebe joined Mayor Robertson at the opening of the City of Vancouver’s new Zero Waste Centre.

  8. March 1: VanPlay Deep Dive Creekside Community Centre Commissioner Kirby-Yung attended a workshop with trans, gender diverse and Two-Spirit service providers and residents.

  9. March 4: Head up the Creek Vanier Park Chair Mackinnon and Commissioner Coupar joined participants in the annual Head up the Creek Rowing Regatta. An On Water open house was also held to get input from local rowers.

  10. March 8: International Women’s Day City Hall Commissioners Shum, Evans, Wiebe, and Kirby-Yung with School Trustee Lisa Dominato and Councillor Hector Bremner attended the unveiling of the Helena Gutteridge Plaza on International Women’s Day.

  11. March 8: Interim Skate Plaza Under Cambie St. Bridge Commissioners Crawford and Evans attended an open house that was held to hear from skateboarders and residents on the design of a new skate plaza.

  12. March 10: On Water Jericho Sailing Centre Commissioners Evans and Crawford attended the third and final On Water open house with residents and staff.
