is the world’s first NGO, to fight human trafficking internationally and holds Special Consultative Status with the UN’s ECOSOC.
CATW recognizes human
trafficking as a form of gender violence and a severe violation of human rights.
On July 8, 2010, the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women, Prostitution Research and Education (PRE) and 85 co-sponsoring
sex trafficking.
In 1999 Sweden
enacted laws that required the arrest and prosecution of prostitution buyers.
Sweden stopped
arresting “prostitutes” and initiated an educational campaign against demand.
