Why now?

  • The electrical systems in all of our aging

buildings need upgrading.

  • The district’s current ventilation/air

circulation system does not allow for consistent temperatures in school buildings for optimal teaching and learning.

  • The medical needs of students and staff

are increasing.

  • This project will impact ALL students and

community members within the Oceanside schools.

Why a bond?

  • The majority of the proposed project will

be eligible for state aid, with 45% of total construction costs reimbursed from New York State; reimbursements will offset budget expenses to minimize burden on taxpayers.

  • The cost of borrowing is currently low.
