  1. BISHOP--John Patrick, 33, was born in Harrison, AR on February 28, 1975. He died on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, AR. John was a good and honest man who loved his wife and children deeply and without reservation. He is survived by his wife, Sara, whom he wed on October 13, 2001, his children Samuel James, Anna Katherine, and John Abraham. He is also survived by his parents, Linda Summers of Berryville, AR and Pat Bishop of Green Forest, AR, stepfather Paul Summers of Berryville, AR, brothers Matthew of Fayetteville, AR and Michael of Tulsa, OK, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Anna Santa Cruz of Berryville, AR and Carl and Louise Bishop of Green Forest, AR. John graduated from Berryville High School in 1993 and from the University of Pennsylvania in 1998 with a B.S. in Economics. He went on to earn an M.A. in Economics from St. Annes College of Oxford University in 2000. For the next seven years he worked as a derivatives trader for various investment banks in New York City. In the spring of 2008, he moved home to Berryville, AR with his family to raise his children in the same environment he had so loved as a child. He was never happier than this past year when he was spending a day riding horses with his kids, sitting on the porch with his wife or sitting on a tractor haying for hours on end. John touched and enhanced the lives of all who knew him with his gentle strength and belief in the goodness of God. His commitment to his family, his friends, and his faith never wavered. Memorial Mass will be 11am Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Corpus Christi Church, 529 West 121 Street, New York City, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to two charities John strongly believed in.
